Colazal (balsalazide disodium) 750mg capsules

Indication(s):  Mildly to moderately active ulcerative colitis.  Safety and effectiveness beyond 12 weeks has not been established.

Dosage & Administration:  (3) 750mg capsules three times daily for a duration of from 8 to up to 12 weeks.

Pharmacology:  Converted to mesalamine in the colon and appears to have topical rather than systemic action and may include decreased inflammation by 5-aminosalicylic acid inhibition of arachidonic acid metabolites.
